The Development of Enjoyment Preference Questionnaire in Online Game

The industry of online game in Taiwan is rising and flourishing. Nevertheless, according to a forecast by IDE the rate of growing is decreasing. In this situation, how to design an online game with competitiveness is quite important. What consumers like is very important for the developer to know. This paper presents a questionnaire for the developers. Base on the depth interview, this research collect the information of what the enjoyment factor is in online game play, and transform those factors into a questionnaire. After the pretest and the factor analyze, the questionnaire is composed of 7 factors including invasion and competition, making friends and social group, the exterior of character, Acousto-optic effect, the story or plot of a play, fictitious desire, customization and creation. This questionnaire is a useful tool to provide a forecast of consumer’s tendency. Developers can increase the quality of game design, and create more commercial opportunities by anticipate the consumer’s tendency.
